filing a grievance part 1

carry me dark and heavy into the night

rub my eyes with salved tips

blow a minty breath into my ear

somebody went and spilled ugly things

into my world, toppling over my faith

an ink bottle spreading blotted dreams

try, tried, trying as any mighty mite

to wash away grievances with casual talk

slouching in my chair getting up to stand

covered by the thought that my goodness

has finally, most indefinitely, come to its scary end.
